Tim Cook made several announcements during Apple 2’s releasend quarterly income. One announcement he made was that Apple might plan to launch an Apple Card payment plan for devices other than the iPhone. He also said that this payment would be interest free.
During the Q&A portion of the earnings call, there are questions about the potential of deferred payments with the Apple Card. He answered saying, as you know; Apple has launched a payment plan on “Apple Card” for “iPhone”. Now we are trying to work on a payment plan for several other products.
Back in December 2019, Apple launched an interest-free installment plan for owners of Apple Cards. This is a 24-month installment package. With this package, users can now buy iPhones and make payments in 24 months without interest. Now Apple has a plan to offer the same interest-free payment for buying other devices besides the iPhone.
Apple does not take interest unless the payment exceeds 24 months. Tim Cook did not provide further details but Apple might offer the same package for products such as Mac or iPad.
Also, during this pandemic, Apple has launched the Apple Card Assistance program. With this program, Cardholders can now pass payments due in March or April without paying interest fees.
