Footage of the Canceled Prince of Persia Game has been hiding on YouTube for eight years | Instant News

Excerpts from the canceled game Prince of Persia have been revealed today, but have actually been available for years. A thread on the forum ResetEra recordings have appeared, and all indications are real. The footage shows a new character model for the titular prince, who seems to have a new set of time-manipulating powers that allows him to play with enemies and change direction in the middle of a jump.

You can watch the full video, running for more than three minutes, below. It seems that the prince is using the Dagger of Time, so it might be a reboot of the sands of time series.

That looks pretty impressive – but it’s also worth remembering that Ubisoft is famous for releasing early recordings that look better than the final release (in this case, of course, there is no way to compare).

Considering the timeline, this game is probably working on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC – and it looks like there will be some giant boss fights. The Redemption of the Persian Prince was never actually announced, so it is not clear why it was canceled – although Ubisoft Montreal has been quite busy with Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry for the past decade.

The last official Prince of Persia game is 2010 Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, which returns to the Sands of Time timeline after the 2008 reboot, is only titled Prince of Persia.
