Xiaomi Redmi K30 5G Speed Edition – Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G vs 765G Compared to Benchmark – What’s changed? | Instant News

The Xiaomi Redmi K30 5G was one of the first devices to be announced with Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G back in December. This was then followed up with superior models Redmi K30 Pro and Zoom, which would later become Poco F2 Pro.

The latest announcement is that there is another Redmi K30 to be launched. It will be called the Redmi K30 5G Speed Edition which will be launched on 11th May

Phone names and announcement dates are confirmed with official posters distributed through companies on Weibo.

Launching of the Xiaomi Redmi K30 Speed 5G Edition

The launch poster confirms the phone will be officially sold on JD.com and the overall design is identical to the existing Redmi K30 with the elongated selfie cut.

The current JD.com listing doesn’t provide much other than confirming the presence of a cellphone.

But previously, it was reported that the page included several main specifications including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G which had not been announced, a refresh rate of 120Hz with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage.

The refresh rate and RAM matches the previous model, so it doesn’t look like this will be the reason for the Speed Edition moniker.

After this revelation, a leaker on Weibo revealed that this was an actual platform by Qualcomm that would be introduced with the new Redmi phone.

It’s a bit strange that the original page claimed to refer to the Xiaomi Redmi K30 5G Extreme Edition, but the updated page changes it to Speed Edition.

Qualcomm Specifications Snapdragon 768G vs 765G

Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G

  • CPU:
    • 1x Kryo 475 Prime (Arm Cortex A76) @ 2.4GHz
      1x Kryo 475 Gold (Arm Cortex A76) @ 2.2GHz
    • 6x Kryo 475 Silver (Arm Cortex A55) @ 1.8GHz
  • The GPU

Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G

  • CPU:
    • 1x Kryo 475 Prime (Arm Cortex A76) @ 2.8GHz
      1x Kryo 475 Gold (Arm Cortex A76) @ 2.4GHz
    • 6x Kryo 475 Silver (Arm Cortex A55) @ 1.8GHz
  • The GPU

That is a fairly large lump in frequency, and of course puts the latest MediaTek launched to shame.

Prime Prime has a 16.6% increase in frequency while Core Gold has increased by 9%.

Then the GPU increases the frequency by 20%.

If anything, the increase in frequency is so high that it makes me a little skeptical, how accurate it is. However, if true, this must represent a significant boost in overall performance.

All other features must remain the same, and this includes the 5G function.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G vs 765G Benchmarks

Leaks also claim that the new chipset reached around 360,000 on AnTuTu. The current Redmi K30 5G with a Snapdragon 765G score of around 300 thousand, this will represent a 20% increase in AnTuTu scores.

Prices and Availability – There is no news in the UK or EU

It said the price could be around 10% higher than the previous model even though there was no information to support this. Availability must be some time after launch on May 11.

No Redmi K30 device has officially landed in the UK or the EU. Redmi K30 Pro will be launched as Poco F2 Pro the next day on May 12. Maybe they will launch a pro model not the same as the K30 5G with SD765G, but I doubt we will see this SD768G based model soon.
