iPhone 11 vs. iPhone XS: Is it time to improve? | Instant News

That iPhone 11, which Apple announced in September 2019, is an impressive and relatively affordable handset fantastic camera and fast processor. But those who have iPhone XS starting in 2018 may wonder if it’s time to upgrade. However, the iPhone 11 has some great new hardware and a number of attractive colors that are fun to choose from.

In short, the iPhone XS is still worth holding, and if you want improvement, I’ll wait to see what 2020 iPhone 12
in the first store, or consider iPhone 11 Pro or Pro Max As a replacement. But if it comes down to iPhone XS or iPhone 11, a better choice is iPhone 11. Note that while Apple stops the iPhone XS, you can still take the device from various retailers and operators.

Starting at $ 699, £ 729 and AU $ 1,199, the iPhone 11 affordable as far as the iPhone goes. Although the LCD screen isn’t as high resolution as the iPhone XS OLED screen, the updated iPhone 11 camera settings include Night Mode and an ultra wide-angle lens for dramatic and sweeping shots. This phone is also faster, has a long battery life and smooth upgrades like a U1 chip remain in top condition for the near future

Do not take it wrong – iPhone XS is still a capable and reliable cellphone. The update that you get from updating to iPhone 11 is not worth dropping the iPhone XS if you already have it. But if you decide between the two, the iPhone 11 is an easy choice. Aside from all the benefits I mentioned earlier, the iPhone XS is also no cheaper than the iPhone 11, although it was launched in 2018. It depends on whether you get it new from operators and retailers like Best Buy, or buy a refurbished model. from Apple, the iPhone XS costs between $ 699 and $ 899.

How do we test

The iPhone XS has a ‘better’ screen, but is barely noticeable

Compared to the 6.1 inch iPhone 11 screen, the iPhone XS has a 5.8 inch screen and is smaller, thinner and lighter. The screen is technically better on paper too, because inside it has a sharper resolution and higher pixel density (for certain numbers, scroll to the specification chart below).

The iPhone XS also has an OLED screen, while the iPhone 11 has an LCD screen. But when it comes to watching videos on YouTube or browsing your Instagram feeds, you won’t see much difference with everyday use. As CNET Editor Scott Stein noted“Apple did a great job with the Liquid Retina LCD screen on the iPhone 11. It doesn’t feel like a compromise except when looking at dark images with subtle light details.”

The iPhone 11 comes in several bright colors which include red, yellow, green and purple (the latter) attract the attention of many people on Twitter), above the black and white standard. The iPhone XS, on the other hand, was launched only in black, white and gold – and even some of those colors might not be available from retailers given their lower inventory. While cellphone colors may be a superficial feature to consider, especially when most people slap a case on their device, there is no shame in getting joy from pleasant colors.

Winner: I’m a big fan of the candy display of the iPhone 11, but the iPhone XS has the advantage because of how it looks.

The iPhone 11 camera offers Night Mode, ultra-wide and more

Not surprisingly, the iPhone 11 has better camera settings. Although both have dual rear cameras, Apple exchanges the telephoto lens for the iPhone XS IPhone 11 ultra-wide lens. That means you won’t have the 2X telephoto zoom that the iPhone XS has, but you will be able to take dramatic wide-angle shots to sweep the landscape or creative closeup.

The iPhone 11 also has features Night mode, which enlightens and captures low light scenes in very clear detail. The results are fantastic, and rival other cellphone makers who have their own nighttime camera modes, like Samsung’s Bright Night, Google Night Sight and Nightscape OnePlus. You still can take adequate low light photos on the iPhone XS, but they will be nicer, not as sharp and have more digital artifacts.

Another camera upgrade on the iPhone 11 is Deep Fusion, which improves photo quality and optimizes details for pictures taken in moderate light settings, such as in a building or room. (To see this in action, read CNET Comparison of iPhone 11 vs iPhone XR.) The video quality is smoother and more stable on the iPhone 11, and the 12-megapixel front-facing is better too, compared to the iPhone XS’s 7-megapixel shooter. So can you capture slow motion videos on the iPhone 11 selfie camera, which Apple has unfortunately branded as “slofies.”

Winner: IPhone 11 presents a useful new camera trick that enhances everyday photos.

iPhone 11 is faster and has a long battery life

Whether you hang on the iPhone XS or consider buying a new one, the XS won’t perform as well as the iPhone 11. That doesn’t mean it won’t be a reliable and fast phone in and of itself, and with everyday use you might not experience the difference between the two. But even without nearly two years of use to slow it down, a new iPhone XS out of the box still has an older Apple A12 Bionic processor, while the iPhone 11 has A13. Look at the benchmark test below:

The iPhone 11 battery also lasts longer. Even though Apple hasn’t revealed the battery capacity of its cellphone, third party teardown reports that the iPhone 11 has a 3,110-mAh battery while the iPhone XS has a 2,658-mAh battery. And during our lab tests for continuous video playback in Airplane mode, the iPhone 11 clocked in 15 hours and 24 minutes, while the iPhone XS lasted 13 hours and 17 minutes. The video streaming test, which we only did on the iPhone 11, lasted 13 hours and 52 minutes.

Winner: With a faster processor and a bigger battery, the iPhone 11 is a clear winner.

iPhone 11 prepares you for future technology

Finally, the newer Apple iPhone packs a few things under the hood, though not the “sexiest” thing to praise, helping the future of cellphones anticipate future technology. This includes:

A U1 chip help the iPhone 11 with “spatial awareness” and allow it to find other iPhones more precisely in close range. That Ultra wide band chip also allows AirDrop to prioritize other devices so you can share files faster. The U1 chip is also believed to lay the foundation for a The long-rumored Apple tile tracker.

Wi-Fi 6 is the next generation of wireless networks. As CNET Editor Ry Crist said that, “Wi-Fi 6 supports faster top transfer speeds; allows devices to send more information with each individual transmission … facilitating better performance, faster in crowded and congested environments,” and more. Keep in mind that you might not see the facilities on your iPhone 11 in the near future. Wi-Fi 6 only certified in September 2019 and an expensive Wi-Fi 6 router.

Haptic touch, that replaces iPhone XS ‘ Touch 3D. Apple removed 3D Touch in 2018, starting with the iPhone XR. This allows you to access additional menu options and commands by pressing your finger on the screen. Haptic Touch works the same way, but instead of pressing harder on the screen, you press on the item for a long time.
