HONOR plans to release a smartphone with 5C SoCs MediaTek | Instant News

HONOR plan to to take advantage of MediaTek 5G SoC on the upcoming smartphone. That is something said by the President of the HONOR Business unit, Zhao Ming.

He said that after the recent HONOR X10 launch conference. He stated that HONOR has a very good relationship with MediaTek, and will try to strengthen that relationship going forward.

HONOR plans to use MediaTek’s 5G SoCs, according to company executives

HONOR X10, which was announced recently, uses the Huawei Kirin 820 SoC. HONOR is definitely planning to use MediaTek’s 5G SoCs in the future, although he will also use his Kirin chip.

The last round of US sanctions made life even more difficult for Huawei. The US basically has is blocked global chip maker from shipping to Huawei (which includes HONOR, as owned by Huawei), and that includes TSMC.

TSMC has made the Huawei Kirin processor, and this change can make the company difficult. Huawei has been switch to SMIC for one of the new chips, but the mid-range ones.

There is no way SMIC can handle Huawei’s requests, and provide corporate premium offers. The upcoming company Kirin 1000 SoC will probably be a 5nm chip, and this change has questioned it.

The whole situation can cause Huawei to seek help from other companies when it comes to processors. Kirin’s flagship chip company is very good, and Huawei will hopefully find a way to continue making it.

MediaTek will be one of the company’s partners, apparently, at least when it comes to HONOR. The latest Dimensity chip from MediaTek is quite good, at least based on clear numbers, but we will see how it performs in real life.

Dimensity 1000+ is the most powerful processor MediaTek offers

MediaTek released several Dimensity chips this year. MediaTek Dimensity 1000L, and 1000+ have been announced, along with Dimensity 800.

Dimensity 1000+ is the latest and greatest MediaTek processor. The 800 and 1000+ dimensions may be the chips that HONOR ended up using this year, but we’ll see later.

Huawei has been using the Kirin chip for a long time now. They proved to be great on paper and in practice. Huawei has invested heavily in its processors, and this whole situation with the US is ruining the company’s plans.

As you know now, Huawei is also not permitted to install Google services on smartphones at this time. However, many people hope that will change.
