When a new generation of consoles is released, the changes are usually incremental – quite impressive, but never really surprising. That’s why sometimes you have to compare modern consoles with their counterparts to understand how much the game really grows – sometimes literally.

But many games are much smaller than the maximum cartridge limit, meaning that the complete library will be smaller.
With the biggest Nintendo Switch game card that comes in at 32GB, the entire N64 library can easily fit on one card.
Three single Switch games larger than the theoretical maximum size of each N64 game combined– NBA 2K20, NBA 2K19, and LA. Noire, although with more accurate numbers it’s likely there will be more games on that list.
Specifically, the Switch has the smallest game size of the current console generation. On Xbox One, Gears of War 4 ended larger than 120GB after the post-game update, while Modern Warfare is currently demanding a compelling 185GB on PS4 and Xbox One.
