Teenage girl needs surgery after being shot in random air rifle attack

A schoolgirl has been shot within the leg in what police described as a “random” assault as she walked down the highway.

The 15-year-old was critically injured and desires surgical procedure to take away pellets which police consider got here from an air rifle.

Greater Manchester Police Chief Inspector Mark Warner stated it was a “surprising incident”.


“On the data we now have in the meanwhile, this may appear to have been a random assault with full disregard for the potential penalties – the lady was simply strolling down the highway when she was shot at; now she requires surgical procedure.

The lady was in Edge Lane close to the Midway Home pub in Droylsden at round 7.15pm final evening when she was hit at the back of the leg.
