LEWISTON – The Idaho Travel Council (ITC) has awarded “Visit Lewis Clark Valley” $ 99,000 in annual grants, as announced earlier this week. The price given to VLCV is the same as last year, although VLCV was asked to reduce the subsidy request by 15% for FY20. The grant submitted by the VLCV was $ 85,000 and the amount awarded was $ 14,000 more than requested. Fortunately, lodging tax collections were not as low as expected. The state of Idaho’s fiscal year runs from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020, so most collections were received prior to COVID-19 for FY20 grants. VLCV’s app had the second highest score in the entire state. Boise with a grant of over a million dollars got the highest score. The application for VLCV is only 1 in 3 out of a total of 31 statewide grant recipients to achieve a score above 90%. The VLCV score is 93.4. The Idaho Travel Council has awarded $ 5,867,607 in tourism marketing funding to nonprofit organizations through the Idaho Regional Travel and Convention Grants Program. Art McIntosh, along with Lindsay Creek Vineyards in Lewiston, is the Idaho Travel Council’s Region 2 representative. .
