Because travel documents have been so negative lately, I wanted to share some good news – there are still some wonderful places in our world to explore and enjoy. Since I’m a travel agent with Monroe Travel Service and you’d expect me to say exactly that, I asked Dodie and Rusty Allen to tell us about their recent trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Dodie, a perfect vacation means going to a beautiful all-inclusive resort, putting your cell in the hotel safe for the week and relaxing. “We were determined not to let Covid stop us. As this would be our 4th visit to a SECRETS RESORT, we knew we expected good accommodations, fine cuisine and good service in a beautiful setting, ”Dodie said,“ and we were also looking forward to being in a new destination. “” The only variable in the mix would be Covid and how that could have changed things. We flew American Airlines from here, and although we wore masks, there was no climate control at Monroe. From what we understood, we walked through a thermal machine designed to detect whether or not we had a fever in DFW, but, other than a questionnaire about our exposure to Covid that we completed and gave at the checkpoint Mexican immigration, that was it. “” However, when we arrived in Mexico, everything changed. It was very noticeable. Everyone wore masks. Social distancing was enforced almost everywhere we went and there was constant cleaning. For example, at the hotel reception we couldn’t even approach the counter until everything was completely cleared after the previous guest. During the night shows, strict compliance with the rules of distancing was applied. Before we sat down, our chairs were disinfected and wiped down. The same happened at the swimming pool and in the restaurants. I certainly haven’t seen anything this extreme being done in the United States. “Even at only 30% of its capacity, the SECRETS CABO was a perfect place to relax for a week. We noticed the lack of overdone buffets, but a smaller version of them popped up in the last two days of our stay. In addition, we had no reviews of great shows like the Cirque du Soleil show that we enjoyed so much at SECRETS MAROMA in Cancun; the entertainment was a bit more low-key, as a local band or two singers were playing every night. The dance club only opened a few nights during our stay but we didn’t care, all Rusty and I wanted to do was get away from it all for a week and enjoy this great ocean blue, to relax by the pool and be pampered for a week by wonderful staff who went above and beyond the call of duty to accomplish just that. Although the staff always wore masks, none of the guests did. Covid didn’t attack our minds because, to be honest, Cabo was doing a lot better at dealing with the virus than we are here in the United States! “” Once we got to Cabo, “Dodie continued,” we went into vacation mode. . We enjoyed visiting this beautiful part of Mexico, shopping in the village, made new friends and probably had too much fun for a week with great food, great weather, great service and all the fun. imaginable natural beauty. We had a great time: Cabo was a perfect escape from the pandemic! Travel can still happen. The world isn’t closed right now, and if, like the Allens, you think traveling is the right decision for you, give me a call or e-mail me. I just checked the rates for a 5 night package which includes the flight from Monroe, transfers from the airport to the resort, accommodation in a room with sea view at SECRETS PUERTO LOS CABOS GOLF & SPA Resort with all meals, drinks, entertainment, taxes and tips included from August 15 to 20 and the rate was less than $ 2,500 for two! The good news is that Covid has offered us some great travel deals right now. Maybe it’s time to review the possibilities? If so, I would love to send you back!
