Airports around Maine get more than $ 6 million in federal funding to make repairs while they overcome the impact of reduced travel.
The largest grant is a grant of more than $ 3.2 million to Wiscasset Airport to undertake runway repairs. The state’s largest airport, Portland International Jetport, will get more than $ 2.2 million to build and rehabilitate taxiways.

U.S. Senator Susan Collins, a Republican, said investing in airport infrastructure will help ensure airports in Maine are able to maintain their role as key job creators.
Airports in Bethel, Augusta and Trenton also received grants to carry out repairs.
