PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG / WECP) – With leaders around the world encouraging people to stay at home, many travel agents are busy canceling trips. Phyllis Reppen from Far Horizons Travel Agency in Panama City is not sure what will happen in the future for those in the travel industry.
Far Horizons Travel Agency has been busy the past few weeks working on cancellations for clients
“Companies that are not well funded, I’m sure, some of them will go bankrupt, but people will travel in the future, as soon as they feel more comfortable about it,” Reppen said.
With all these cancellations, Reppen faces several obstacles when it handles sudden changes to its clients.
“Because every company has a different policy, it’s very frustrating, and they can change it from one week to the next.”
Reppen has been in the travel business for more than 50 years. He has a few tips for those who have booked flights and want to make changes.
“I suggest waiting. The airlines cancel flights, then you get all your money back, but now they offer cancellations for future dates without penalty, but credit, that means you don’t get it back, but you can use it for future trips. , but you must order it by a certain date. “
He also suggested that those who still have a desire to travel, should plan to search as soon as they project it safely. He believes travel deals will be better than before, and Del Linge’s long-time client plans to take full advantage.
“We have been around for a while, and we have traveled to many worlds, but there are still many worlds that we have not seen. At present we plan to see all of that, and we will continue after all this is over, and we are optimistic that will happen.” said Linge.
