People like Sally Arnold who still hoped that someday Santa Cruz County would get a train for the railroad corridor certainly did not live through the same COVID-19 crisis I had experienced.
I haven’t found myself supporting mass transit lately where someone sits and stands full of people who might not have the vaccination for the latest virus. I also don’t support spending a lot of money either on fees or taxes to support such businesses. In my opinion, what makes more sense is to stay within our budget and avoid large financial obligations for the maintenance of property (railroad corridors) and equipment (railroad). It now appears that the future, closer than we had imagined a few months ago, would suggest a variety of individual and outdoor travel modes, on footpaths that we can make in rail corridors, cheap and fast.
