With 13 cases reported on Saturday, the total number of positive cases of Covid-19 has reached 387 in the district. Of the new cases, four each – each from the Hathi Gate, Green Avenue, Gilwali Gate and Baba Bakala with ILI (diseases such as influenza) – were reported at the flu angle. All four have no travel history or contacts and are considered cases of community dissemination.
Of the remaining, while one patient has returned from Delhi, the remaining eight are contacts from four previous cases. Eight patients included two from Lashmansar Chowk, one from Rani Ka Bagh, four from the Hakeema Gate and one from the Gilwali gate.
Civil Surgeon Dr Jugal Kishore said the district currently has 73 active cases being treated at the Covid treatment center. The district has also reported 307 recoveries and seven deaths from illness so far.
An immediate test of Anwari workers right away
The Tarn Taran government has announced to conduct Covid-19 tests on all anganwari workers in the district because they are at the forefront of the fight by participating in house-to-house surveys of suspected patients. The district has 1,121 anganwari workers and 1,059 anganwari helpers. District officials stated that 23 samples of anganwari workers were sent on Saturday.
PP Kit APD quality Poor quality is sent for testing

Because the purchase of PPE kits by Government Medical College has come under the previous scanner after doctors and paramedics refused to wear this complaining that this was of lower quality, these samples had been collected and were being sent for testing.
The college has purchased PPE kits worth more than Rs 70 lakhs after Covid-19 cases began to increase. Officials at the institute are silent and appear to be trying to close the matter
