Johnson was transferred to intensive care on Monday after his coronavirus symptoms worsened. He has asked Foreign Minister Dominic Raab to represent, Downing Street said.

Johnson was hospitalized on Sunday night and had been tested after suffering persistent coronavirus symptoms for more than 10 days, but the government had previously said he was excited and still responsible.

“Throughout this afternoon, the Prime Minister’s condition has worsened and, on the advice of his medical team, he has been transferred to the Intensive Care Unit in the hospital,” his office spokesman said.
“The Prime Minister has asked Foreign Minister Dominic Raab, who is the First Secretary of State, to represent him if necessary.”
