Allcripts client UK Gloucestershire Hospitals successfully go live with e-observation solutions in the middle of a COVID-19 pandemic | Business | Instant News

The NHS Foundation Trust’s Gloucestershire Hospital, located in the United Kingdom, has successfully broadcast live with the latest additions to Allscripts electronic health records, even though a new coronavirus outbreak is ongoing.

The Trust decided to use Sunrise EHR as a ‘clinical wrapper’ around the patient administration system that existed last year and aired it with nursing documentation and risk assessment only five months later.

On March 17, 2020, the Trust added e-observations functionality, which included automatic NEWS2 calculations, a national early warning score designed to pick up patients at risk of damage. The implementation of NEWS2 immediately helped the Trust manage patients during the COVID-19 outbreak. Gloucestershire Hospital has also added an icon to the patient tracking board to identify patients with COVID-19 and provide results through the system.
