Residents of the Sellwood told to shelter in place for armed man police tactical negotiating group on stage | Instant News

Police told residents in the part of the Sellwood to the shelter on Sunday because the subject involved in the incident was not thought to be armed.

Several streets in sellwood was closed on Sunday afternoon, when the Bureau of Portland police special emergency response and crisis recovery team responded to a call in 7900 block of Southeast Sixth Avenue.

“Please avoid the area,” the police said in a press release.

Streets were closed from Sellwood Park to Tacoma street on Southeast Sixth Avenue, police said.

Police dispatch records showed over 20 units responding to check the location on this place.

OPB reporter on the scene tweeted: “a few people on the scene said they heard the shots.”
