New Jersey could be in a round of wet weather overnight because of heavy storms with strong winds and even some small hail might occur, weather forecasters said.
The storm will strike most of the central and southern parts of the state between midnight and 6am Wednesday, the National Weather Service said in a forecast discussion Tuesday morning.
Although there are dangerous weather forecasts for 16 of the 21 counties in New Jersey, there are no watches or warnings at 9am Tuesday. The five northeastern regions (Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic and Union) do not have dangerous weather prospects.
Most Tuesday will have cloudy skies with afternoon altitude rising to the 60s. The first round of showers is expected this afternoon.
Wednesday will be cloudy especially with the possibility of rain and the highest again especially in the 60s. Sun peaks are possible in South Jersey in the afternoon.
Gusty’s condition is expected Thursday and Friday. Wind advisors may be needed Friday because a gust of around 40 mph is expected in the Shore area.
