Clear skies and temperatures in the mid-90s are expected to cross the Phoenix metro area through most weekend Memorial Day holidays, before rising to three digits next week.
The National Weather Service issued excessive hot watches starting Wednesday when forecasts called for high temperatures between 108 and 112 degrees in south-central and southwest Arizona.
But near-normal weather is expected this weekend, the fortune teller said. “Breezy to windy and dry conditions locally” Friday will cause high fire weather conditions, according to Weather Service estimates.
High temperatures Friday are at 96 degrees with clear skies, while Saturday and Sunday are estimated at 94 and 95 degrees respectively. Low temperatures will remain above the 60s.
Next week, an increase in high pressure in south-central Arizona will push temperatures higher, the estimate states.
Monday’s high temperature was set at 99 degrees, jumping to 103 degrees on Tuesday and 109 degrees on Wednesday.
Notes in Phoenix for the end of next week range from 111-114 degrees, according to Weather Service estimates.
