The first group, Apollo Holding, offers “NoronaPak” products, including cannabidiol from cannabis plants, according to letters from the Food and Drug Administration and the Federal Trade Commission.
Apollo Holding claims to be able to fight the coronavirus with NoronaPak, according to the letter. The products are intended “to reduce, prevent, treat, diagnose, or cure Covid-19 in humans,” but unapproved medicines are sold in violation of federal law, the letters said.
A second letter was issued for North Coast Biologics, which allegedly offered the vaccine.
In March, someone involved with North Coast Biologics bragged about a vaccine claimed on Facebook, the letter said. “Just vaccinated 12 people in western Seattle tonight … 12 more to be vaccinated in Burien,” he said.
The group allegedly said it would make the vaccine available to those at risk or to anyone who just needed to be convinced. It edited its social media post last month, saying it was no longer available because of a “stop and stop” letter from the Attorney General.
But misleading claims remain online, federal officials say. Both groups did not immediately respond to CNN’s comment requests.
Hoping to see the police on the beach in several places
After weeks spent indoors to stop the spread of the corona virus, Americans will emerge from locking to roam outdoors for Remembrance Day.
There will be a beach day, a cooking event and a garden visit. And with large gatherings, the risk of community spread will be high, health officials warn.
“We will have people who want to go there and get some air,” Dr. Anthony Fauci at CNN’s coronavirus town hall. “You can do that. We don’t tell people to just lock up unless you are in a situation where you have a big outbreak that is happening, we don’t have too much of it now in this country.”
But that doesn’t mean letting your guard down when coronavirus spreads.
“Go, wear a mask, stay away from six feet from anyone so you have physical distance,” he said. “Go running. Go for a walk. Go fishing. As long as you are not in the crowd and you are not in a situation where you can physically transmit the virus.”
Limitation of social distance still applies
The 50 states have now taken steps to ease restrictions on staying at home.
In New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Delaware, the beach reopens on Friday with certain restrictions. Most beaches will be opened in Florida, while those in hard-hit areas such as Fort Lauderdale and Miami-Dade County will remain closed.
“Please, when you go out this weekend, understand you can get out, you can be outside, you can play golf, you can play tennis with marked balls, you can go to the beach if you stay six feet apart, “said Dr. Deborah Birx, coordinator of the White House’s coronavirus response.
“But remember that it is your space, and that is the space you need to protect and ensure that you maintain social distance for others.”
Some local officials will take extra action.
Paul Kanitra, mayor of Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey, said police would be at the beach this weekend to enforce social distance by giving warnings or asking people to leave.
“Nobody wants to be the mayor of ‘Jaws’ who lets everyone go back to the water too quickly, right?” she says.
The beach is not the only thing that can be reopened when the weather warms up.
Trump said the house of worship was very important
In addition to social activities, churches and places of worship have also become major points of contention. In Mississippi, a church was burned to the ground after breaking the coronavirus boundary.
“Some governors consider liquor stores and abortion clinics important, but have left churches and houses of worship,” Trump said. “That’s not true. So I am correcting this injustice and calling the synagogue important.”
He called on the governor to “allow the church and place of worship to open now,” and threatened to “override” the governor if their country did not follow the recommendations – even though he did not have the authority to do so. Recommendations are voluntary.
Georgian Governor Brian Kemp tweeted his support for Trump, saying places of worship – especially during these difficult times – are very important.
California Governor Gavin Newsom said he welcomed the opening places of worship in a safe manner and he has worked with the religious community in guidelines. The Governor of Rhode Island, Gina Raimondo said, his country was not yet ready to reopen worship centers.
In Vermont, Governor Phil Scott said his country would open a church with a 25% capacity. And in Virginia, Governor Ralph Northam said the churches would continue to provide services outdoors or through vehicles.
“Just because we have allowed the place of worship to open up, with the new guidelines, it doesn’t mean that they have to do it,” Northam said. “So, if they are more comfortable continuing the practice that they have been using for the past few weeks, they can do it.”
Test confusion in several countries
Meanwhile, at least 11 countries confirm that at some point during the coronavirus pandemic, they have combined the number of viral tests with the number of antibody tests in the total reported tests, which means there is a risk of them inflating the overall testing total.
Viral infection tests are used to determine whether a person currently has an active case of corona virus while an antibody test is used to look for traces of past infection.
