EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – State police in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Connecticut are looking for wanted fugitives in connection with several killings in Connecticut.
Peter Manfredonia, 23, was last seen in the East Stroudsburg area on Sunday, police said.
Manfredonia is wanted for murder and assault in Connecticut. He is considered armed and dangerous.
The Connecticut State Police said Manfredonia was seen leaving the scene of a murder and serious assault in Willington, Connecticut, Friday morning. Two men were attacked with “sharp weapons,” and one of them, a 62-year-old man, died of his injuries, police said.
Manfredonia then invaded the house and detained someone against his will in Willington Sunday morning, said the Connecticut State Police. He stole a gun, a long gun and a vehicle, which he used to bring to Derby.
Manfredonia then went to the home of an acquaintance in Derby, and was accused of killing the 23-year-old man.
Manfredonia drives a black Volkswagen Jetta with a sticker that reads “In Tribute to Newtown Victim # 26.” Police said the vehicle was located in New Jersey on the Pennsylvania border. They did not determine the exact location.
He then went to East Stroudsburg, Connecticut police said.
On Sunday afternoon, 69 News received a tip that the suspect got into a Uber vehicle in the Stroudsburg area and asked to be taken to Allentown, but he reportedly got out of the car and escaped.
Allentown police said they were still working to confirm whether the tip was accurate.
Manfredonia was last seen wearing a gray shirt and gray pants, police said.
Police said he was believed to be armed with pistols and long guns, and must be considered armed and dangerous.
