Families reunite after more than 25 stranded pedestrians, some still need to be saved | Instant News

Calls came in around 7:15 pm Sunday night the climbers were stranded, and scattered on the trail.

SCOTT COUNTY, Va. – According to officials, more than 25 people were stranded near Satan’s Bathtub in Virginia on Sunday night.

Several agencies responded to the scene to help rescue.

At 6:30 am Monday, officials said at least seven stranded pedestrians were near the bathtub area on the path. A water rescue team is also working to bring them to a safe place.

Crews said they could communicate with and find the rest of the pedestrians at the river crossing.

According to the Fort Blackmore Volunteer fire department, the incoming call was at around 7:15 pm Sunday afternoon. The climbers are scattered on the trail.

Heavy rain had pushed the area, causing flash floods.

Rapid water rescue from Norton is called in to help rescue efforts.
