Newly-appointed adviser on finance, Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, took cost of his submit on Saturday.
The federal government notified his appointment as adviser to the prime minister on finance, income and financial affairs a day earlier.
Dr Shaikh, a political economist of worldwide reputation with over 30 years of expertise, has served because the finance minister from 2010 to 2013.
He holds a PhD in economics. Dr Shaikh taught at Harvard College and labored on the World Financial institution for a number of years, advising 21 nations, together with a stint as World Financial institution nation head in Saudi Arabia.
His appointment comes at a important time in Pakistan when the worth of the rupee has depreciated to a historic low and the financial system is beset by inflation and debt.
Dr Shaikh will function Adviser to the Prime Minister with the standing of Federal Minister.
