KARACHI: A 72-inch diameter pipeline of Karachi’s primary pumping station Dhabeji burst owing to energy suspension, disrupting water provide to town, reported ARY Information on Monday.
In response to a Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) spokesperson, water provide from the pumping station has been disrupted.
Ok-Electrical, town’s sole energy distributor, halted energy provide to Dhabeji pumping station on account of which a 72-inch diameter pipeline burst owing to the stress created by the reverse move of water.
The spokesperson mentioned energy breakdown brought on the pipeline on the pumping station to burst. He suggested residents to be sparing with water till resumption of water provide.
The principle sources of water for Karachi are Keenjhar Lake and Hub dam from the place water is pumped via three primary bulk pumping stations positioned at Dhabeji, Gharo, and Hub.
